Ageism is alive and well.

Today I picked up our local newspaper sports section and one of my heroes, Joe Paterno, head football coach at Penn State, had his program headlined as “a doddering legacy”. While I am the last to suggest that elders shouldn’t be held accountable for their actions, to castigate as feeble and senile a man who is among the most robust octogenarians I have observed seems over the top.
